Well Put Simon. List building is a most frustrating chore, but one that must be put first…for with no list…no subscribers, no sales. Building trust is a must also, I have several subscriptions to my email that I would never delete or opt out from because of trust, and from the fact these marketers always…ALWAYS…over deliver when they make an offer. There is so much junk out there, and some of it has been made to be really attractive, great sales pages, more and more younger marketers are very savvy about how to develop great graphics and marvelous web pages. But in the end if you dont need it…dont buy it…Thanks Simon

The only problem being that many people fail at building a list…if that fails what chance do we have.
Here is an example:-
I tried running a Warrior Special Offer to get a few sign ups…and that was all I got…a few (8) and my post was out of sight within 2-3 hours.
$20 I don’t have to build a list of 8.
I supplied some free info and downloads and the first time I sent a mail with an affiliate link 6 of them complained!!! Not very stimulating. I had to let the 8 go as I could not justify the monthly charges for my autoresponder and could not drive traffic or get any other sign ups.
Another was posting in the cheap stuff section at DP.
I put up some downloads on my site and left the opt-in as optional (receive notification for future free downloads) and thought I would get some visitors. I got 5 and then received an infraction because the post was not releveant!!!
If this is the real way to make money then I think I am doomed.
I wish that all your other visitors/subscribers have more luck and success than I have had.

Warrior forum is a great way of driving traffic, this technique alone has allowed me to build hundreds of subscribers in a matter of days after implementing…
Here’s some things to consider:
- What was your free gift? Was it something that people actually wanted?
- What you subject line compelling enough for people to click onto? You really want to get as many clicks as possible to your WSO.
- Have you installed your autoresponder opt in box correctly? (Sounds simple, but it’s incredible the amount of people that stumble at this hurdle).
Also the reason those 8 people unsubscribed to your mailing list – going from what I’ve just read you instantly hit them with an affiliate offer…
You need to gain their trust, give them some quality information (maybe a video update?), let them know that you care!
Also try solo mailing blasts by contacting list owners, this is another great way to drive traffic relatively inexpensively.

You are on point, I would like to add that jumping from system to system is a major mistake.
Finding a product to sell that fills a need is something many do not realize. The world also does not work solely on referral contests either. I am still curious as to why nobody looks at their hobby and attempt to monetize it. Knowing what you are selling makes SEO that much less painful.

Simon, you seem like a nice person but I do not know you personally. Then again, I do not know any of the internet marketing gurus. I have to trust them all (to a certain degree). What you say sounds good if it is true. That is all I can say.
Simon, what you say is absolutely true and you are correct in that there is a lot of garbage out on the internet promising you the world and delivering nothing. As a result I have personally become very cynical, and with that being said, one could argue that your genuine concern and perception of caring could be interpreted as a means of gaining trust and developing rapport with the sole intention of simply increasing your product sales. In fact, your bantor about “having to get this off your chest” is more then likely a clever marketing tactic you devisied
for your next video. Weather you are sincere or not I laud your marketing expertise because in the end it all comes down to product sales and you appear to be very good at what you do.

well put simon some very true words said i have been at this marketing business a while and to be honest there is a load of rubbish out there at the moment people getting caught left right and centre. It is hard to make money on the net but if you can get a good quality list under your belt you are set the money is in the list no matter what anyone else says it is important to have a list. keep up the good work.

I’ve considered it a lesson learned though because I bought the website that didn’t work, stockpiled all the crap and Joined everything! I had attempts to make the same as you made but every time something stopped me on this way.
Again, I completely agree with you on it. But really, in my opinion, we don’t need to spend all our time for fighting with them directly, we could spend our time for our business!
Instead of that we may warn people periodically and provide our own job in our way.
I have short IM experience around 2 years (mainly I had study what is going on at the Internet) and more experience in the network marketing – 8 years, and I know who is who. I know where to find covered tricks of “so called GURUs”.
But this is not so important… Important another thing… More then 6 months I prepare business action concerning IM on social media services along with the development of the strategy and blueprints on it.
Today this work is reaching the end and I look for other reliable team members with clear thoughts and creative ability, who wants to make legal money and help me in my business.
The goal of that is to give an opportunity to all people makes legitimate money on Internet. Because, as you know, all of that coalitions just sale suggestions and some kind of tools(in the best scenario), which probably is not useful.
I know where money is, because I know what applications of IM tools we provide with real business. Moreover, we will be supported by thousands (maybe millions) of people, which make real money in IM business.
To be shortly, I create a team where in opposite of “existing money makers” we give people real opportunity and of course we gonna make money too!

Great video and message – it’s just a shame you know the MAJORITY of people will watch it, nod their heads in agreement and then go and buy the next “magic bullet automated loophole siphon system” that’s offered by Johnny Marketer.
Trying to educate your subscribers about how to REALLY succeed in internet marketing is a battle and it’s something that is affecting a lot of other marketers judging by the spate of blog posts around this topic recently.

I look for products with actual value and tools to help me save time. If one button click software was all it took, we all would be millionaires. Keep up the good work!

First I would like to thank you for all the good advice you have given me since I signed up with you.I do have a question that I don’t think you have hit on yet. I have not chosen what I am going to sell yet, but it will be a nice little niche that I know something about. Let’s say for instance it was crocheting, or knitting something along that line. What do I give people to make them want to sign up with me? I do crochet but I do not know enough about it to write several articles or letters, and that is including what I could look up. Does what I give them have to be on the same subject that I am going to want to sell them later, and does what I give them as a thank you have to be on the same subject? I’m lost for what to talk about. Thank you for any help you may have the time to give.
Couldn’t agree more, Simon, I’m heartily sick & tired of it too! I’ve wasted too much money & time in the past with such programs. They just prey on naive newbies, like I was, who believe their hype. All they’re thinking about is making a quick buck themselves.

Good info Simon. I have realized this for a while now but it certainly doesn’t hurt to see this over and over again.
We all would love to win a lottery and we have to accept that to get rich overnight, that is the only way it will ever happen (unless you have a filthy rich relative that has left you millions) and that doesn’t apply to very many of us.

Well said Simon, you hit the nail on the head with that. It is the only way to succeed online! There are no such things as magic push buttons and all that crap that is being pushed so hard lately by alot of marketers, some are well respected marketers who are pushing hard and i just don’t know what they are thinking(Do they think we are that stupid to fall for it) Unbelievable.
The only way forward is building that foundation and putting in the work that is required to succeed. That is why around 95% of people don’t get anywhere is because they can’t be arsed to put the work in and are just jumping to one quick fix to another that just outright don’t work. I’m getting sick of seeing these products lately with the “Blind Sales Copy” it seems to be a quick growing trend as of late.
These creators seem to be more focused on a “High Quality Sales Page” than an actual high quality product, absolutely shocking! These people need to be dealt with.

I couldn’t even contact, the other half I had to fight like he**
just to get a refund. One I waited over 30 days, never did

taking the ‘monthly fee’ without even giving me the product!

Well said Simon and so very true. The unfortunate thing is when you just start out you simply have no clue as how to get started or where to go. You end up being easy meat for everybody!!
It’s been 3 months since I got started and beleive me I bought, spent and tried worthless crappy stuffs. I’m moderately intelligent but I fell into these scams that made me feel so ashamed and humiliated.
Do not scorn at us the newbies…it’s a huge mistake that the majority of us commit when you are fighting for a gasp of air!

Well said my friend. Although I’ve wasted a few dollars, from time to time I pay my 37 USD for this tremendous program that will make me a millionaire in 10 minutes, just to see what happens next. Now, if I want to really make a lot of money upgrade for a measly 197 USD and so on. On one occasion there were 4 upsells, which makes nonsense of the whole process.
That is, from a buyers point of view. I agree with you, Simon,
your subscribers (potential customers) should be treated with respect or you’ll lose them.

Simon- Well said- You stated an opinion that needed to be said. It is amzing how nuch stuff is being sold by the guru’s and it is like a spinning wheel- they are selling each other’s product. This past weekend, I spent $37 on a program that would be loadup my PayPal a/c with tons of money and continue to function on autopilot with virtually no effort on my part. The developer of the software told how much money he was making from using his own product, it was really amazing. A day later, I received another email from this person pushing a work at home jobs program. Why would he doing the second thing if his software was all that great. Very hard to sort thru all of the crap that lands in my mail box.
Simon, You are so right most of the emails I get from Males and Females are all hype and no bite. They promise all and most of the time you get nothing.Good traffic is a must I have spent heaps on different programes but all fail.

Thank you Simon for that video, we fell for the crap that was out there as well, SMC fills your head with wonderful things like free website and such, only to have paid $1,000 to ‘upgrade’ the site, and all we ended up making was 50 bucks….. so now i am working on getting a business site going that will only have quality products from quality businesses and People who are selling these products…… still working on the site and hope i can find a opt in email program that will work with it

Your video email was so true and truthful, I thank you for speaking out. Most would not because they need others approval. They cannot communicate with their heart , only listening to their minds. They are not fully present, in the moment, just out chasing rainbows.
Traffic is the internet’s holy grail, not money. The scammers are money hungry. I see lots of them via email. I get 100-180 per day – they waste my time. I’ve unsubscribed but they ignore. I’m digressing.
My focal point is traffic. With your advice and aid I will get momentum moving,get control of files and programs. My wife watched your coffee DVD and says you’ll keep me from drowning.

There is so much junk out in cyberspace that I just want to vomit. I don’t expect that when I purchase something it is going to make money overnight but I would like something to work and at least make a few bucks. When you buy these programs the people on the other side of the monitor just give you enough information to get you started but then in order for it to work (as they say) you have to spend more of your hard earned money to make it work. They don’t give you the whole pieces to the puzzle or they don’t have the tech support to help you with the program if you get stuck. Simon Cad I do not know what you are offering just open this email. It is all about the money (GREED) and they are just laughing all the way to the bank with our money. Don’t they realize like you said in the video if you treat the customer right with product then you will have a customer for life.
Simon, you are absolutely right in saying there is a bunch of “crap” out there. It seems that whatever program you purchase the people that sold you the program, and even the program owners themselves, disappear from that program only to move on to the next. It seems that once they sell you the program they do not want to spend much time training you or telling you how their program actually works. Consequently, we get stuck and frustrated because something was missing. Something that actually showed you HOW the program works. As far as I’m concerned, 95% of the programs DO NOT WORK therefore this is why there is a 95% failure rate to making it on-line.
You seem to be a true believer in your product(s) and show a genuine care to the people that purchase your stuff and follow you.

Hi Simon – I liked your video and the sentiments expressed – I hope it’s not a case of Cad by name and cad by nature.
I’ve been looking to get some sort of income online for about 6 or 7 months now. I have to admit that I have bought (and got refunds on) several products. I am not afraid of hard work and, since I am retired, have plenty of time to spend on the Internet, sometimes it’s up to 10 or 12 hours a day , often working during the night as it is more peaceful with no interruptions.
I admit to jumping from one thing to the next, but when the sales page or video promise a product to be the best thing since sliced bread and GREAT FOR NEWBIES, I’m afraid I’m one of the gullible ones. I’ve tried to give each product a fair go but have yet to make ONE RED CENT ONLINE.
My decision – to try niche marketing – a small website, well researched with good keywords, good quality content and quality articles submitted to article directories to create backlinks and the site monetised with Adsense.
I spent a day this week unsubscribing from email lists – I had over a hundred folders in one mailbox alone. You know how it is, you get an email from someone you thought you could trust saying ‘Take a look at this FREE report’ So you take a look and have to enter your email address to get access to the report. Well, you want that report, you’re sure it will help in achieving your goals, so in goes the email and there you are, subscribed to someone else’s mailing list.
Anyway Simon, I didn’t unsubscribe from your mailing list. I’ve not been on it for very long and, after all, you are English – a big vote in your favour. I admit to having an open mind at the moment, you’ll have to convince me of your desire to help before you start sending me ‘Offers I can’t refuse’.

You certainly speak the truth. I currently sell books through Amazon, but the bottom has literally fallen out of the market over the last 18 months. So I’m looking for alternative products for ebay and Amazon. I have the ideas and the courses but, currently, not the cash to buy test product. However I shall not give up.
Although you do speak the truth Simon, I would like to warn anyone else out there that the “dishonest self acclaimed Gurus” out there are starting to use the same arguments as you use, but in a dishonest way, in your short video to promote the sale of their ageing, rehashed products.
So they use “Honesty” as a ploy in their sales patter.

Hi Simon. I like your honesty and hope we will receive more video that deal with a problem directly. Personally I wouldn’t lie I need to be rescued from these so looking good softwares that promise the world. I need something that works and I need guidance. So to hear what you said I believe I am on the right track with you. I will have plenty of time soon and will expend it working on my affiliate business. Thank you. I will be a true testimony of what work or doesn’t. So keep me in mind you guys.
Dear Simon – yest I agree with all you say about the rubbish that is out there and how easy it is to get caught up in the hype – especially when one has a real need to make some money – not riches – just a reasonable amount of money. However I still haven’t really found a way to actually get started – I have four websites out there – two I have built myself – two are built by professionals – but have to say if anyone has actually visited any of them I don’t know it. I have written blogs and articles and done all the back links needed – but I have a feeling I am still listed on the 178th page of Google never to be heard of again. Its getting ones site on the the first page of Google that takes expertise and no-one has shown me how to do this. I too need something that works and info that is detailed enough for me to follow and not too broad that I fall between the bits that are missing. That is my honest opinion. Sally

I think your information is spot on and any inspiring network marketer nedds to heed your advise. I think the basic problem is that so many people out there today are really hurting financially. The temptation for quick cash is just tto much for most to resist. Marketers know this and that is way the cost of these products have decreased. They know that most will scrape up thirty or forty dollars for the chance to make some weekly income.
It is a shame that people have been led to believe that there are programs that allow you to make instant income. Sales can’t happen without customers and customers can’t find you without a ranked website. This is where your advise really strikes home. I’m afraid the only way most will ever succeed is when they can find someway of short term income to allow them the timne to learn how to market. As i said earlier, people today are in dire straits and will usually opt for the quick buck which we all know won’t happen.

Thanks for your honesty and it is true we all know there is a load of rubbish out there. The problem is if you are gullible like me you do tend to get caught up in the snare. I would love to be more discerning but I am not. So I am going to continue listening to your good advice. Yes the most important thing is to get your subscribers list up. Easier said than done. I totally agree with you Simon and I have learned this the hard way. I would also advise people to check out the person, just Google them and see if they have a presence and have been doing this for awhile. I know they even complain about the garbage on the internet and then peddle their own garbage, or hire an actor to diss the other gurus hiring of actors. How low can you go?
It pervasive and I do hope it gets better soon. Its too bad they couldn’t be weeded out somehow. But checking them out before buying the shiny new product is probably your best bet. If they’ve been around for 10 years or so, chances are they know their stuff and they are okay. Even review sites can be helpful if something sounds good check out a review of it before you buy it. Good info Simon. I believe there is a few websites out there that can give you some good info on how to get a six-pack, lol.

Juat watched your video and as always you were clear and to the point. No BS No Hype. I have decided because of this that I am going to delete everyone from my computer and start from scratch using your guidelines for internet success. I am so sick of receiving emails from 40 or more people on the exact same opportunity everyday and it usually turns out to be a load of crap. that ends now, the confusion has to stop before I can find any success.
